For
more than 20 years Devon Hansen has inspired people
of all ages with her uplifting message of personal triumph
over tragedy. Devon's Heartpeople® art
draws from her life experiences and "spreads the
love" through images inspired by the "heart"
people, places, and events that she interacts with.
A "heartperson" is someone who holds truth,
love, and purpose in their heart. In times of adversity
they rise to the challenge and overcome, while others
may turn their heads.
As
a former homeless mother, Devon fought her way back
from the streets to save her children from their abusive
father. She is now a prolific artist, a change and anger
management consultant/coach, a celebrated author, and
a nationally recognized motivational speaker.
Ms.
Hansen has been a keynote presenter invited to work
with such diverse groups as the Oklahoma Bombing survivors,
Fortune 500 executives, international diplomatic event
commemorating September 11th, and children's groups
numbering as many as 5,000 kids.
Devon's
Heartpeople® art originated from a special
Valentine's Day card she created after she was reunited
with her daughters in 1996. The simple magic marker
drawing featured a knobby-kneed, wild-haired, big-footed
character with a heart shaped mouth and hands, and one
heart eye. The character's imperfections were perfect
… and its message, endearing.
Today,
Devon's sought-after Heartpeople® images,
numbering more than 3,000, include Heartpeople®
friends and family, magical castles in the sky, fantastical
worlds under the sea, oversized flowers, whimsical heart
angels, fairies, and animals; vibrant jungles, and a
new line called Divas. Heartpeople® appeals
to multigenerational, multicultural audiences from all
economic backgrounds, and has been recognized and/or
